Futures Support

The Stormtracker symbol for the supported futures are:

            #EMINI#        E-mini

            #NQMINI#     Nasdaq emini

            #ZB#             30 year bond

These symbols automatically roll over after expiration and use both the correct RealTick and Interactive Brokers symbols

We can now add more futures and currency symbols, so if you trade other futures, let us know and we’ll add support for it. Note that you need to subscribe to the exchange that the future trades on, for both Realtick and Interactive Brokers, if you use the Black Box features.

If you use stormtracker to Black Box trade both equities and futures, you’ll need to specify a sector and put equities in one list and the futures in the other list. The default symbol list that comes with stormtracker is an example of this:

IBTestList.txt contains all the equities symbols while fut1.txt contains the futures symbols. Each module must specify the Sector(or in this case the Equities or Futures class) as one of the conditions of the Module(Trading System). The reason is that each class must have a separate execution configuration, ie route must be GLOBEX or ECBOT, while the number of share ordered for equities are usually a multiple of 100 while the Futures contracts are multiples of 1. The default stormsets that come loaded with Stormtracker have examples of how to configure it in this manner. All of the modules are Equities modules, except the module ‘Futures’, which is a simple trading system to demonstrate how to configure stormtracker for futures.
