Configuring Trading Systems - Entry through Exit

This window allows you to configure seamless automated trading systems, from entry through exit.  Specify the short and long entry conditions, multiple scaleout targets, various stops, the routes for orders.  Position Sizing can be configured, as well as specifying particular symbols and time windows for particular trading systems.

Entry Criteria

When the conditions in the Long Entry and Short Entry boxes are met, the symbol is sent to KATP for execution.  When the conditions in the Long Exit or Short Exit boxes are met, the positions are exited.  Positions are also exited when stops or targets are hit.

Exit Criteria

Just as the Long and Short Entry boxes specify the conditions for Entries, the Long and Short Exit boxes specify the conditions for Exits.  If left empty then there no Exit Criteria are specified.  The Exit Criteria  are tested in addition to the Stop and Target parameters, so whichever is hit first, the Stop, Target or Exit Criteria , will be the cause of the exit.  If you wish to have only Exit Criteria, then specify values for the Stop and Targets that will take it out of contention(ie Stops and Target values that are so large that they will not be hit)

Enable/Disable Automated Executions

There is a “Automated Executions Enabled” box in the lower right hand corner of your screen.

Configuring Symbols

This window configures the symbols available throughout the application. Press the Start Realtime button to update historic price data for the selected symbol list.

Config Modules - Max Positions

Once a module has the maximum positions open for a module, any additional alerts for the module are rejected by KATP. If a position is closed so that the Max Positions setting is not exceeded, then alerts for the module will again be sent to KATP

Config Modules - Max Capital

If an alert for automatic executions is rejected by KATP because it would exceed the Max Capital of the module, then it will be added to the Blocked Symbol List

Config Modules - Basket Configuration

Baskets are a stop and target for the P&L of all positions in the Trading System which are in addition to the stops/targets of each symbol. A Basket can be configured for each module.

Config Modules - Position Sizing

Recommended to use with Equity Trading Systems and Dollar and Target criteria.

Config Modules - Module Symbols

If the Symbols tab is enabled, then you have the option of configuring valid entry and exit windows for each symbol

Config Modules - Exit All Positions Time

All Open positions in the Module are exited at this time. Any Alerts that occur after this time are not sent to KATP

Config Modules - Valid Entry Times

The Times Tab allows you to configure valid entry times for a module. While alerts will appear in the Module window whenever the conditions configured in the Conditions Tab are true, the alert(s) will not be sent to KATP unless it is in one of the valid Time Ranges Configured .

Config Modules - Target Exit Parameters

Target Exit Orders are initiated from KATP that meet the Target Criteria

Config Modules - Stop Exit Parameters

Stop Exit Orders are initiated from automated positions that meet the Stop Criteria.

Target Exit Parameters - ScaleOut

Kairos Automated Trading Platform(KATP) has a powerful mechanism for scaling out of positions, called OrderScaling, and selected with the ScaleOut Target Exit selection. As an example, you can sell ½ your position at one target and the remaining position at a second target. It is not limited to only 2 targets – you can configure as many targets as you like.

Config Modules - Enable Executions

When the Module is activated in Scanning mode, executions will not be sent to KATP unless Executions Enabled is checked. The tabs in the Configure Modules window associated with Executions will not be enabled for editing unless “Enable Executions” is checked.

Config Modules - Entry, Stop and Target Exit Parameters

When conditions in the Long Entry and Short Entry boxes are met, the symbol is sent to KATP for execution. When the conditions in the Long Exit or Short Exit boxes are met, the positions are exited. Positions are also exited when stops or targets are hit.
